I wear my heart on my sleeve and if we've met you know that I believe in collective action and mutual responsibility. We are in this world together, and I can't look away or do nothing right now. I can imagine in the future being asked, "What did you do when genocide was being perpetrated in the 2020s?"
I spent three months in eastern Poland last summer working with international humanitarian relief organizations to do my small part. I contributed to the cause as a driver, interpreter, and listener.
We scratch our heads and wonder how good people in the 1930s couldn't/wouldn't/didn't stop rising genocidal fascism that engulfed the world in war. And since then we've vowed "never again." A genocide is being perpetrated in Ukraine today, in front of our eyes, and it calls for collective action.
The initial surge of volunteers and donations has dried up. Your help is needed now.
"Right now in Ukraine we are in a difficult time of war. I'm sure you know that Putin is leveling cities and villages to the ground.
We experienced shelling on the first day of the war, and now they are shelling even further into the country." April 2022
